Corey Johnson represents District 3 covering neighborhoods of Hell's Kitchen, Chelsea, the West Village, part of Flatiron, Soho, and the Upper West Side.
He is a fierce advocate for his constituents, advocating for more affordable housing, park land, school resources and neighborhood improvement.
His dedication to serving
his district is unmatched.
As Chair of the Council's
Health Commitee, he continues to push important reform into
Community Residents Protection advocates for tenants throughout Chelsea and fights to change citywide policies that often fail to protect tenants from illegal and dangerous construction. Recently, over 80 buildings were discovered to have had landlords falsely file
that buildings were either
unoccupied or contained no rent stabilized/rent controlled

Muriel Beach—After a long career writing collective bargaining agreements for longshoreman that included testifying for Congress, Muriel Beach became a champion of activism in protesting the Vietnam War, and helping AIDS patients. More recently, Muriel has devoted her time and knowledge as a member of the United Nations Aging Committee, deliberating on international longevity issues, is on the Chelsea's BRC Community Board, in helping those with drug and alcohol addiction, and is an active Executive Board Member of NYC chapter of Statewide Senior Council Action.
